Wherever several pages of paper need to be bound in a tamper-proof manner, the eyelet is the method of choice, be it a notarised contract or an insurance policy. The insertion of an eyelet ensures that nothing can be added to or removed from the document without the entire document suffering visible damage – thereby revealing any attempted tampering.
In addition, the eyelet serves to create a secure bond between several pages. This prevents individual pages from going missing in multi-page documents.
