Filing and office products
The starting point for the assembly of folders and ring binders is the so-called folder covers or ring binder covers. These are manufactured in a separate, upstream process. To this end, single-piece cardboard blanks are cut to size and finished to achieve a high-quality appearance and to protect against wear and tear.
On the assembly line, the finished folder covers go through several automated steps: first, grooves are embossed to allow the cover to fold. Then the handle hole is punched and fitted with an eyelet. The slotted holes for the Rado eyelets are punched and fitted with eyelets, and the mechanism is riveted to the folder cover.
The turning star rotates the folder cover by 180° to bring the lever mechanism to the top. A cover sheet, the hold-down clip and a protective cardboard sleeve can then be attached. Finally, the mechanism is closed and the folder is folded at the folding station. The finished binders are discharged from the machine onto a roller conveyor.
